  • Adjust Any Conversion Options

The default conversion is fine for most files. if you need to adjust any options, you can do that here. Otherwise, choose "Next" to start the conversion.
  • By default, the entire PDF page will be converted. You can also choose to trim all margins (white space) to generate just what's within the bounding box of the drawing.
  • Any text that can be selected in the PDF file will be converted into editable text. When choosing "Text as Curves", the text is no longer editable but this setting ensures a perfect match for logos and files with less common fonts.
  • Sometimes, you don't need all the objects on a page. Remove what you don't want automatically using these options.
  • By default, the PDF file will be placed all objects on a single layer. You can choose to separate layers by Color or Line Width. Additional options and combinations are available for generating layers via the subscription service or by using our desktop programs.
  • Select your unit of measure. The scaling factor is applied during the conversion to restore the CAD drawing to its original dimensions. By default, pdf2cad uses 1 mm in the PDF = 1 unit in the CAD file.
  • Using the unit of measure above, enter your scaling factor. Some common factors are 1":1'=12, 1/4":1'=48, 1/8":1'=96, 1":10'=120, 1":500=600. For metric units, 1:100=.1, 1:250=.25, 1:500=.5, 1:1000=1, 1:5000=5.
  • You can specify an image resolution in dots per inch (dpi) or based on width or height in pixels.
  • Common widths are 640, 800, 960, 1024, 1280, 1400, 1600, 1920 and 2048.
  • Common heigths are 480, 600, 720, 768, 960, 1050, 1080 , 1200, 1440, and 1536.
